Finding a job these days is like digging for gold. I have been looking/searching for job this whole summer; to get an interview is pure luck. I want a job so bad, I can’t describe how bad I want it and If I don’t get one soon I might jump off something (joking). Life can’t be that bad but it’s hard to get a decent job after all the silly looting that has happened in London lately.

A decade ago the concept of loving a dress on the computer screen and buying it without trying it on will have been the highest level of insanity. Fast forward to 2011, online shopping is not only the fastest way to shop it has become a daily chore for women all over the world who relax behind their computer screen, lavishly spending thousands of pounds on dresses.

When Net a potter was on everyone’s lips, middle class women were left disappointed as they saw this online shopping ideology as another excuse for the rich to spend good for noting money on things the are yet to see but the birth of ASOS will change the fate of many women around the country.

ASOS has become one of the most love online brands and the pace at which ASOS is growing we can only sit back and enjoy every moment of great deals ASOS has to offer. Even my mum love ASOS, for a woman that will never buy things she physically can’t touch, ASOS has been a good change in her life.

River Island Internship

So my internship started a week ago. Fun times? not really but I am enjoying every second of it. As a fashion editor and stylist, my constant interaction with cloths is the most fantastic thing that has happened to me since my addiction for salad.

RiverIslandas you may know it is much bigger that the average store you walk into daily. Spending a week in the press office in west end has killed my fears of the busy life of fashion. There is nothing exciting than doing the things you love without a degree (lol) you can laugh with me to that but it is a privilege I don’t take for granted.

My day starts by 9;30 AM in the river island press office. To get the day rolling, I have to looking through the daily press and pluck out anycoverage/featureRiverIslandhas in those papers. Then I get my self ready to be bombarded by magazines and newspapers that can’t wait for opening hours to demand the samples they would love to feature in their publication.

Thought out the day, I am sent out to look for specific cloths publications are interested in featuring. Towards the end of the day I and the team I work with have to do returns which involves returning the cloths back to the stores.

There is something new every day and as I get in to a second week in to my internship, I am ready for any challenge that is thrown at me.FUNTIMES!!!!!1

The word life can be contradicting, talk about living it. Gosh! its like waking up to a challenge every morning and struggling to wrap up the challenge before dawn. same s**t different days.

As a stylist and blogger its a nightmare to get hold of the things you need to get on with the fashion world. “you are too young for me to be loaning you my cloths for shoot”. If i am paid every time i hear these words, I did be a millionaire.

The fashion industry is not the most pleasant show you see on Ugly Betty, the ugly truth is its way more worst and the level of disappointments you encounter will either break you or make you stronger.

The best things in life are free but most of them come at a deadly cost.

Being 21

The thought of being twenty one I find really scary and just two hours to being twenty one I am still not sure I want to be twenty one. I have had a great year because I have worked hard a s a stylist and blogger but most times I fee like the fashion industry don’t take me seriously because of my age, or the youthfulness in my face.

Turning twenty one comes with gigantic responsibility and as the minutes come into being twenty one I know God is going to see me through this year and I plan to work hard and get my self out there.

The road might not be an easy one but there is nothing I am not able to do.

(1) Cleopatra’s daughter by Michele Moran

If anyone has mastered the Egyptian fiction then its Michele Morgan. Cleopatra’s daughter has become my all time favorite book. It tells the story of Selene the daughter of the last emperor of Egypt and the life she lead after the defeat of her mothers empire to Octavian emperor of Rome. The story is brilliant and the thought Michele Morgan put int to this book if just magnificent and worth reading.

(2) Iphone 4

well I can say my life is just perfect with the arrival of my Iphone4. Apple the leader in touch screen has not failed me with this beautiful phone. The phone is classy and perfect, it is way lighter and faster than the Iphone3G. So far my only problem has been the network but its the mufti tasking and face-time that has given me a whole new look at the wonderful thing that are yet to come out of apple

(3) Nick Knight

The British photographer is the most iconic British name nearly everyone in the fashion world know. Knight’s work, has been featured on almost every established magazine I have come across. His work is worshiped and love by the likes of Lady GAGA which is of no surprise as they both shared a sense of darkness in their work.

(4)Ugly betty

If only Ugly Betty could be throw back on our television the world would never be the same. Ugly Betty was the show that changed everyone mindset about the fashion world and I am very Happy at what the show had to do offer.

London AW11 Menswear

As the curtains are drawn on London Fashion Week’s successful show of British creativity, menswear has never been better. There was a day-long parade of creative flamboyance, something common on the London fashion scene since British humour goes hand in hand with British fashion.
Day 6 of LFW, the last day being set aside to celebrate the country’s menswear industry, was filled with well tailored double breasted jackets and tweeds to brace us against the harsh weather of A/W11. For A/W11, its official, the black suit never left: the all time classic black suit swept most runways show as designers pushed this trend, making it one of the biggest looks to watch. Black suits were rather less skinny than previous seasons, when it was all about the fitted jacket. The new black suit might appeal to any man, with masculine emphasis on the broad shoulders, slim waists and fitted trousers. The military jacket that sprung from Burberry into the high street has turned minimal for A/W11. The look has been stripped down and focuses on the shape of the jacket rather than frivolous details. At J.W.Anderson, Omar Kaskura and James Long, straight-cut trousers dominated the runway, a big twist since skinny trousers have been the catwalk’s favourite since their comeback in the early noughties. There was a clash of British hooliganism and conservative chic, when Cassette Playa and Katie Eary sent models down the runway in striking prints and bold colours right after more subtle collections by Hardy Amies and E.Tautz.

Key trends likely to be watered down in to the high street market are the Tweed jackets, long coats, patterend shirts, buttonless blazers, wool trousers and the suit jacket which is set to be the strongest trend next winter. If winter has never been your cup of tea, think twice as this coming winter will be rather exciting, filled with lovely cloths to make us all happy

When Gucci decided to go all colour blocking on us for their SS11 collection so did the high street. If you think Zara and top-shop were going to sit back and watch the well off enjoy good fashion, think again because most high street brands have decided to give us the same glamor but at a sweet and affordable price. Colour blocking is big this season and it’s the perfect time to show your love for colour as the sun has come out early to play this year, so it wise to use your colours whiles the unpredictable sun last.

If the stylish strip of Prada hasn’t caught your attention, look again as they seem to be in every high street shops or on every fashion conscious body on the street of London. The monkey collection was indeed going to be a hit due to the fact that it was probably one of Prada’s strongest spring summer collections in years. The playfulness of the collection has lured high street brands in to doing a replica of it signature strips which I predict will be the biggest trend by the end of summer.
